School Reopening Update

Dear TCA families,

We want to thank all who completed our survey regarding how to reopen our school. Your feedback has been invaluable as we review all the guidance from the Minnesota Departments of Health and Education. 

TCA has developed a five phase reopening plan. In order to be able to respond quickly to changing situations caused by the pandemic, TCA has designed its instructional model on Schoology in a way that we can change forward or backward without any disruption to daily learning activities for students.

Based on survey feedback, and based on rising COVID 19 cases in Ramsey County, the administration is proposing to the school board in a Special Meeting tomorrow morning to begin in phase 2. Phase 2 still allows TCA to bring in small groups of students who need extra help either with academics or mental health during the week, while all students are distance learning. TCA will be prioritizing these students and contacting families regarding this.

Distance learning this year will be very different. Students will be meeting “live” daily in class with their teachers. Attendance will be taken every day and many more improvements from last year.

It is always our intention to have students learning in the school building as much as possible, however student and staff health and safety is our first priority. Please watch for more information next week with details. We are still working on ways to have new student orientations, and for all students to pick up Chromebooks and other school materials. We do have one Chromebook for each student this year!

We also hope to have several fun activities virtually to bring joy to our community!

TCA ha desarrollado un plan de reapertura de cinco fases.
