Middle School Athletics

Twin Cities Academy

Middle School and High School Athletics Programs

Twin Cities Academy offers a wide variety of competitive athletic opportunities. Some are by grade-level, some are mixed Middle School grades, and some are traditional JV/Varsity programs. Placement on the team and level is dependent on the grade and/or tryouts held at the beginning of the season. High School level programs hold practices daily and will have 2-3 games a week while the Middle School programs will have 2 practices and 1 game a week.  When a school bus is provided, student-athletes are required to ride it.

Twin Cities Academy is a member of the LIST league (Middle School), the Twin Cities Athletic Conference (comprised of 22 charter, private, and Christian schools), and the Minnesota State High School League. We open certain High School programs to grades 7 and 8 for growth and competitive reasons. For middle school sports there is a $120 player fee.  50% F/R lunch. -$10 per sport/sibling.

High School sports: Registration packets must be complete by the date listed or a $25 late fee will be assessed (if registrations are still being accepted). A Sports Physical is required and must be on file in the school’s main office (dated more recently than: 10/30/2016 for fall sports; 2/28/2017 for winter sports; 5/23/2017 for spring sports). Participation is dependent on a 2.0 or higher GPA to get on the team and grades are checked regularly in order for athletes to maintain eligibility.

Some of our sports are offered at both the Middle School and High School levels. Student-athletes in grades 7 and 8 must decide prior to the start of the season which program to try out for. If a 7th or 8th grader tries out for a Charter Stars/High School sport and does not make the team, the athlete will no longer have the option of playing in the Middle School program due to roster deadlines.
